Visa Regulation for the Republic of Burundi

The Republic of Burundi does not issue visas electronically and does not provide e-visa services. Any person traveling to Burundi from the United States of America or Europe must obtain an entry visa at the Embassy of Burundi in Washington, D.C. prior to traveling, except nationals of the East African Community (EAC) and DRC (Democratic Republic of Congo). Standard processing time for visa is 15 days. The cost of visa is $90 for single/multiple entry and valid for up to 30 days. Please check with your nearest Embassy of the Republic of Burundi to obtain visa. As of 2024, regular passport holders from 6 countries visiting Burundi for tourism purposes including Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda and South Sudan Do Not require a visa and will be granted permission for short-term stay on arrival.
