What To Expect
Day 1. Welcome to the economic capital of Burundi, Bujumbura. Your midsize range hotel is included (once confirmed based on availability). You will be picked up from the hotel at 9:00 am. If you arrive at Bujumbura airport, you will be picked up from the airport and transferred to your hotel. The tour will commence the next day, allowing you time to relax, enjoy, and prepare yourself for the adventure.In the morning, we will visit Rusizi National Park, where a possible boat tour (or walking along the river) in the Rusizi River can let you explore closer to hippos, numerous birds, and the joining point between the Rusizi River and Lake Tanganyika. Later, we will explore Bujumbura city by car and foot. Our next destination is the Belvedere Climb, offering a beautiful view of Bujumbura City. We will proceed to the Independence Hero Monument. After that, we will visit Musee Vivant, the Snake and Culture Museum. The next stop is "La Pierre Livingstone et Stanley," a huge rock in the suburbs of Bujumbura commemorating the meeting between explorers Stanley and Livingstone. Overnight at the hotel. Day 2. Visit Kibira National Park for a guided nature walk. In this park, there is a possibility of spotting various animals, and if lucky, you may encounter white and black colobus monkeys and chimpanzees. Enjoy the panoramic view of the Congo-Nile Ridge. Continue your journey with a visit to the remarkable and breathtaking tea plantation, where you can learn more about the harvesting and processing of teas in Burundi. Overnight at the hotel. Day 3. We head towards the Source of the Nile and proceed to Karera Waterfalls. After exploring the waterfalls, we drive to Gitega, the second town and colonial capital of Burundi. Enjoy a visit to the Gitega National Museum and a city tour of Gitega. Overnight at the hotel. Tropitel Gitega Hôtel
Day 4. Visit the former King's house and Gishora Drum. As a bonus, before heading back to Bujumbura, we will stop at BUDECA (Burundi Deparcharge du Cafe), a coffee farm located in Gitega. The visit to the farm will guide you through the coffee-making process. Afterward, we will be heading back to Bujumbura, marking the end of the tour.
Day 5. Free time in Bujumbura. Hotel: Goodlife Residence Bujumbura
Day6. Hotel pick up and departure from Burundi. End of the tour.
